When they arrived they were put right into service. The #2 tank had a problem that one of its tread motors (each tank has 2 treads to move) did not work. I’m an electronics tech. so I was able to take it apart and fix it but not perfectly.(I’m pretty sure an average person without a jewelers kit and multimeter could not have fixed it.) So the one tank works great and the other . . . ok. Also, you start to loose control if there is anything in between you and the tank (a wood table top or curious dog lets say). In my opinion it’s a GREAT idea, the workmanship is good but the design need work. Three AA batteries only give 4.5 volts to the tank, limiting speed. One (or two while were dreamn’) 9 volt batteries weigh comparatively and would allow for more powerful motors, increasing speed but possibly reducing play time (two 9 volts would help that). Also, the controller needs some more power to increase the signal strength and range(you would have to up the tank power as well to get the additional range). The needed improvements would increase the price, but not by much (still less than the $100 mark). So, the idea is great, this application is good but needs work to make it great but you get what you pay for (thats what I don’t understand, a small increase in price would make these awesome and if they sucked batteries down fast then hey, maybe the battery co.’s would help subsidize the design costs. Just an idea) I hope this helped. Laterz.

I bought these as a joke for my family for Christmas. Opened them Christmas day and one of the tanks had a problem with one directional switch that prevented it from moving one direction.
So I returned the item and requested a new one. As soon as the new box arrived we took them out and tried them again. And Again the same issue with one directional button. We took them outside, into different rooms in the house to make sure there was No interference with the r/c. After numerous attempts at location changes, battery changes, even person changes to make sure it was not “user error”, they went back in the box and will be shipped back for credit. We’re opting for the Laser Extreme game this time.
Has Anyone else had problems with these?

I bought these for my husband and his friends in Iraq for Christmas. He loved the idea and they all enjoy playing with them. He also said the shock is pretty strong, but they enjoy that! A unique, amusing gift! Thanks for making his Christmas brighter!
