If you want to get a good inxpensive starter boat that you will love to sail for many years, buy any of the Victor boats. They require a little more building prowess, but you won’t be dissappointed in the performance. However, you will need to buy your own electronics. Also, make sure you set the boat up right–there is nothing worse than having a poor sailing boat due to lack of basic sailing knowledge and incorrect setup,etc..

  • fladfisk:

    Failboat.

  • affepaffe97:

I want one :D its cool that it actullly can sail

  • PaulPenalver:

hi i have recently bought the n11 and i was wondering if you new where to get performance parts?

  • michaelhenriquesrj:

    The boat not sail beautiful

  • CutlerBeckett:

    Are sailboats good beginner ships?

  • MarkusKatabri:

Whoa Whoa Whoa EZ guys. The boats not that bad. In her Price Range as a RTR she’ll beat the snot outta a box built Victoria. Truth is mine will sail a nice beam reach clear until it’s almost out of sight. If the rig is balanced correctly almost no rudder input is needed. I’ve sailed 14′-28′ boats in competitive racing. And had 2 previous RC sailboats by Kyosho and Dumas. This boat is pretty good and cost the same or less than both of the them. Granted the stock radio gear is crap.

  • hodaddy3:

LETS FACE THE TRUTH, MOST OF THESE RC SAILBOATS WON’T GO MORE THAN 3 FEET AND THEN YOU HAVE TO TACK POORLY TO GO ANOTHER FEW FEET AS THEY NOSE DIVE AND STOP MOVING FORWARD. WATCH THE VIDEO OF THE Nirvana II. That is NOT sailing. It sort of just jerks around, looking for tack after tack. It is the design, not the operator.

  • mousepotato64:

I was happy with my Victor boat.

  • DragonSukhoi:

no, but, the Villain can withstand waves like nothing else it’s size, the Sv27 has actually flipped on the wake off of my EX. The sailboat also has the problem (this is the Nirvana 2 problem) of the nose submerging in light winds, and the rudder comes out of the water easily and you lose all steering control. Just a few cited problems.

  • ProductionDesignrMAX:

    I also like the ODOM

  • ProductionDesignrMAX:

No offence but the soling 1 is just not for me. I dont want a soling or a J24 style or anything that I have sailed on.

Have been looking at victor models the 24″ americas cup boats look awesome

  • ProductionDesignrMAX:

Your not seriously suggestion that I buy a powered TRAXXAS boat are you?

If it doesn’t have sails its just not a proper yacht.

  • mousepotato64:

Glad to. I got a Soling 1 Meter. It’s a little more of a kit but it’s a really great boat. Modeled after an Olympic racer. Ironically, the NII was designed by the guy who designed the R/C Laser. 8/

  • DragonSukhoi:

look at the villain EX, $350.00 And it is one of the best boats out there, and it is RTR. You have to paint it to make it look good though.

  • ProductionDesignrMAX:

Thanks for the review mouse potato – saved me from buying one myself!

  • ProductionDesignrMAX:

    What planet are you on?
Okay sure send me a boat, I’ll take it to mexico.
I live in L.A. *and* am sailor and racer

  • ProductionDesignrMAX:

Dragon I dont know anyone who is actually into RC who buys RTR vehicles regularly, and definately NEVER at a bargain basin price like this boat.
    This is available for 150-200$.

ANY COMPETITIVE BOAT the servos and remote are going to cost you 150-200$ not including boat kit, sails, rigging, keel, etc

  • tom151283quincy:

cheers guys im director of megatech, im willing to offer you the whole rc sailboat range for free if,you are willing to take up and win the mexico sail boat championship!

  • mousepotato64:

Sorry, this boat is a piece of crap. The servos are junk. The sail “winch” didn’t work right out of the box. And when I sent them back they would not replace them unless I sent the whole boat back to the factory. The boat is poorly designed, It dives in any kind of breeze. It has a special box for all of the servos that fills w/water constantly. I will never buy another Megatech product ever.

  • poodlenme:

this boat is so cool. fast as can be. quality all the way.

  • DragonSukhoi:
