My child loves plastic slinkies, but if you’ve ever had one you know that after a few extra tangly messes they don’t always return back to their original spring shape and eventually parts of the plastic get weak and the spring breaks. About 2 weeks ago I found plastic Magic Springs at a local dollar store — all different kinds, rainbow, metallic coated, and my favorite – the ones which were a clear-ish green or red. They are really pretty. We purchased two of them and so far they are holding up better to my child’s antics with them than the original plastic slinky! The width of the plastic is actually thinner, the diameter of the coil is slightly less, and I don’t think you get as much coil height(though it could be the same, I am not sure)than with a plastic slinky, but they seem to have an amazing ability to go back to their original shape after horrible twisted up messes. I have been quite pleasantly surprised and amazed! Time will tell if they too will eventually break off in sections, but so far they seem to have a greater resilience than a slinky and appear to be the better product, especially for the price. Truth be known, I went back and purchased 4 more for future use!

I’m glad I didn’t spend more money on a Slinky. This is the same thing but it was cheaper.
