SANITATION TRUCK FOR 2 YR OLD,
My 2 year old loves trash trucks. He loves to point out trash along our walks. So, this toy was a great fit. It is very durable and he loves pushing the buttons (which makes noises such as a truck backing up). I was very pleased that it came with two trash cans. He enjoys filling them up with trash (small pieces of ppr) and loading them in the truck. The only disappointment was that the lid to the trash can does not stay on very well. If you have a young child you definately want to keep an eye on the lids. One is already MIA. Therefore, I do wish it came with the option to purchase more trashcans. Overall, I highly recommend this toy for any child that loves the to watch the garbage trucks!

My sister bought this garbage truck for my 2 year old for Christmas last year. He absolutely loves it!! However, it is true what everyone has said about the garbage can lids – they do not stay on. It would frustrate my child and he would get upset and cry after spending a lot of time trying to keep the lids on. Finally, while he was asleep I took the lids and hid them hoping he would forget about them. Eventually he did and since then this truck has been even better (no more tears over the lids). I rotate all of his toys on a 3 month basis so he only plays with a third of his toys at a time. But this is the ONE toy that I have never put into the rotation. He plays with it so much I can’t justify packing it up. He has never gotten bored of it. I was shocked to see the price on Amazon, though. My sister bought this truck December 2010 for $10+tax at Walmart.

|Trash cans ~ argh!,
This is a great little truck BUT the trash cans are beyond frustrating for my very particular 3 year old. The lids WILL NOT stay on when moved from open to close or closed to open. DUH. What kid isn’t going to want to be able to open and close the trash cans? If you’re a parent to a toddler you can imagine the amount of frustration and tears that have resulted from somebody dropping the design ball at Tonka. Bummer b/c otherwise we were pretty stoked to find this truck. And we have tried subbing with other trash cans from other trucks in his “collection”
but the back end is pretty small and has two distinct squares outlined so these are the ones that are included with the truck are the only ones we’ve found so far that fit there. You get the truck you’ll see what I mean. Maybe if you’re child isn’t as detail-oriented are my son then great buy.
